STOP-DWI Program to Coordinate New Year’s Eve DWI Crackdown

(Binghamton, NY) The Broome County STOP-DWI Program announced that law enforcement agencies across Broome County will deploy special DWI enforcement patrols to help ensure that our roadways will be safe during the holiday season and on New Year’s Eve.

Don’t just make holiday party plans—make a plan to stay alive.

  • If you plan on drinking, make arrangements now for how you’ll get home by downloading the free STOP-DWI Have A Plan mobile app at www.stopdwi.org/mobileapp
  • Take a taxi, call a sober friend or family member, or use public transportation.
  • If you see a drunk driver on the road, call 911 when it’s safe to do so
  • If you know someone who is about to drive or ride while impaired, take their keys and help them make safe travel arrangements to where they are going

The STOP-DWI crackdowns are comprised of several periods organized by the New York State STOP-DWI Foundation. These efforts are supported with funding from both the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
